Florence Henderson Describes How Former NYC Mayor John Lindsay Gave Her Crabs

Former "Brady Bunch" star Florence Henderson sat down with "The HuffPost Show" on Friday and recounted how she unexpectedly contracted a sexually transmitted disease after a "little fling" with former New York City Mayor John Lindsay, a story she tells in her memoir Life is Not a Stage.

"It's not something I'm proud of but it's something that happened," she told host Roy Sekoff. "[John Lindsay and I] had a little fling one night and the next morning, I woke up and I had these creatures and I had no idea."

Henderson, who recently took to the stage for a APLA benefit show, quickly called her doctor, who broke the news to her.

"She says, 'You've got crabs.' [It] scared the heck out of me," Henderson said.

While Lindsay was definitely apologetic, he and Henderson never tried for a second date.

"He sent me flowers the next day and apologized," she said. "And of course, I never really saw him again."
