"The ground is shaking," someone shouts as the footage begins.
Moments later, climbers in the distance begin to run before the avalanche itself is visible. Then, within seconds, the camera fills with a fast-moving cloud, signaling the advance of the avalanche.
The climbers shout and duck into tents as the rumble of the avalanche moving past can be heard outside.
The footage was posted on Youtube by Jost Kobusch, a climber from Germany who previously has posted clips about preparations for his expedition. (Warning: Video includes strong language.)
"The ground was shaking from the earthquake and as soon as we saw people running we were running ourselves to save our lives," Kobusch wrote in the description.
More than 3,000 people were killed by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake, including at least 18 people at Mt. Everest.
